RAILWAY DRIVING
From the point of view of its operation, the railway world sits between two extremes: Manual driving and Unattended driving..
The so-called Degree of Automation (DoA) establishes 4 levels in which the railway operation has been conceptually structured. Up to the DoA4 level, there are critical processes supported by humans and therefore exposed to possible faults due to lack of attention or error.
A great number of railway accidents are linked to this kind of situations, generally caused by excess speed.
The traditional methods of securitization of the railway operation generally would involve the process automation (DoA4), but its cost is extremely high to the point of being unfeasible in most of the cases.
BEGITRAIN generates sound and light alerts, alerting the driver so that he/she may act swiftly, and serves as black box, incorporating the information to the route video.

System of support to human activity in railway driving
The object of the Begitrain system is alerting the train drivers of hazard situations, generating alerts and early warnings that may allow to avoid accidents or to minimize its impact if they get to happen. The system draws conclusions after analysing the following information.
- Reading of signals (speed and light signals) through VCA (intelligent video content analysis).
- GPS: Speed and position of the train.
- Road mapping of the route.
